Michael Furrh Sets Guinness World Record For Longest Usable Golf Club (VIDEO)

An Texas man has broken the world record for longest usable golf club, driving the ball 146 yards using a club measuring 14 feet, 2.5 inches in length.

According to the Dallas Observer, Michael Furrh of Arlington broke the mark previously set by Karsten Maas of Denmark. In 2009, Maas drove a ball 134.5 yards using club that was 13 feet, five inches in length.

As stated on his Facebook page, Furrh is a golf professional who trains caddies at Caddie Club in Dallas and works part-time in the Pro Shop of Arlington's Rolling Hills Country Club.

After his record-setting drive, Furrh spoke about the unique technique needed to wield such a long club.

"Because the club is so heavy and so long with so much width, you really have to wait for the club to finish its coil in order to start your downswing, so you have to be very patient," he told FOX 4 News.

The Daily News notes that this wasn't Furrh's only amazing trick shot of the day. He also hit a drive off a six-foot tee while standing on a ladder.
